“One Act” Plays Were One-Of-A-Kind Production
The adults stepped aside. And the students took over.
“One Act” is all students…and the final product that was months in the making was on display over the weekend with two shows in the West Auditorium. Student-acted, directed, and produced, “One Act” is evidence of what students are capable of doing when “adults get out of their way.”
The One Acts were born from a spark of creativity that led to an actual script, months of writing and rewriting, a series of workshops ~ and then rewrites. A total of 35 plays were submitted in December, and the six that were chosen were musicals, comedies, dramas…and highlighted what is best in Stevenson students.

Calling All Fashionistas: Fashion Show Is TONIGHT! Dress your best and come check out the 8th Annual Stevenson Styler Fashion Show. The show is slated for a 7 p.m. start TONIGHT in the Performing Arts Center and will feature the latest looks from local retailers as well as amazing student-designed looks made by students in the Clothing and Design classes. Admission is $5 and all proceeds will benefit Dress For Success which is a not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Student collections will be highlighted for students who submit more than three looks they have made and designed in class. The fashion show is produced by members of the Stevenson Styler Fashion Club and head producers Anjini Thomas and Bennett Thyren. Over the past few weeks, students have been busy styling looks for the models, deciding on what hair and make-up trends they will use on the models and deciding on the theme. This year the theme is “Fashion In Transit,” which was chosen to highlight the fast-moving and evolving trends we see in the fashion industry. |

Juun Shin Taking Over The Stevenson Instagram!
To get a handle on what’s going on behind-the-scenes of tonight’s Fashion Show, sophomore Juun Shin (pictured right) will be taking over the main Stevenson Instagram account.
Shin is the Public Relations Coordinator for the Stevenson Styler Club, which is hosting the show. She’s been in that role for two years.
“I’m excited about this event because I have a passion for clothing and fashion,” Shin said. “I’m also so excited to see how the team’s hard work will present on the stage.”
Shin’s job was to “bring (the show) to as many ears and eyes as possible.”
“I worked on promoting the show as well as planning the event,” Shin said. “This event is filled with a lot of student-made garments, and I hope that people can come to the show and watch our models present these clothes.”
