Dance Concert To Showcase Best Of Stevenson
Dance And Choreography On Friday And Saturday

The Winter Dance Concert will feature amazing talent from Stevenson’s Dance Program as well as student choreography from the Mélange and Repertory Dance Companies and the Concert Dance Class. The concert will run TOMORROW and SATURDAY with a 7 p.m. start each night in the Performing Arts Center.

Each dance was chosen via an audition process. Choreographers developed the concept and cast the dancers for their pieces under the mentorship of their directors.

Guest Choreographer Jen Cupani is an alum of Stevenson High School and was one of the founding members of the Mélange Dance Company.

Faculty choreography is by Melinda CriglarAngela Dauphin and Janet Rothwell. And for the first time ever, Ms. Criglar and Mrs. Dauphin are co-choreographing a dance.

Visiting Artist Chuck Hodes Is A Former Stevenson Parent
And An Award-Winning Photographer

Stevenson is proud to feature Chuck Hodes as its latest artist in the 2022-2023 Visiting Artist Series.

Hodes’ photography will be exhibited in the Visiting Artist Gallery, which is located in the First-Floor Rotunda, West Building, through Jan. 13.

An award-winning photographer with more than 40 years of experience, Hodes, whose three children all graduated from Stevenson, boasts a career that includes motion picture and television set photography as well as commercial advertising and corporate campaigns. He is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild, which accredits him to shoot stills for television and feature films through the major studios.

During his career on set, Hodes has compiled a list of more than 100 credits, including FX’s “Justified: City Primeval,” premiering later this year on Hulu, and “Night Sky,” starring Sissy Spacek and J.K Simmons, released this past summer on Amazon.

Other notable credits include six seasons on the hit Fox series, “Empire,” as well as 10 seasons of “Shameless” on Showtime. Hodes is a member of the ICG’s National Executive Board and a 2015 nominee and 2016 winner of the prestigious Hollywood Publicist Guild Award for Excellence in Unit Still Photography.

A Midwest native who currently resides in northwest suburban Chicago with his wife, Hodes earned a B.A. in Cinema and Photography from Southern Illinois University.

The Failed Presidential Candidates has been called Stevenson’s funniest improv troupe and is ready to show you why.

Come out to the first Failed Presidential Candidates Improv performance of the year TOMORROW starting at 7 p.m. in the West Auditorium. The show is FREE!

Plan For The Future With The College Career Center TONIGHT

The College Career Center has just the program to help JUNIORS sort through and manage all of their thoughts, ideas, goals and dreams for the future.

CCC Night For Juniors is an in-person event starting at 7 p.m. TONIGHT at the Performing Arts Center that will give juniors and their families tools for how to reflect on and develop conversations about the post-secondary journey. Students are highly encouraged to attend with a parent(s)/guardian(s).

Post-Secondary Counselors Sara English and Dan Miller and Career Program Specialist Dan Diambri will discuss ways students can further explore career options and options after high school as well as how to choose a college, how a college chooses its students and the next steps.

The event will also be live-streamed via a Zoom Webinar.

HOSA Marrow Donor Fundraiser Marries Culver’s And Jeopardy!


The Future Health Professionals Club (HOSA) is hosting two events TOMORROW!

There will be a FREE Jeopardy-style team competition in the PWC Multipurpose Rooms from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 pm. for HOSA members and ANY interested Stevenson students.

HOSA is also hosting a “Dine and Donate” benefit night to raise money for “Be The Match,” the national marrow donor program at Culver’s from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with 25 percent of group sales being donated back to “Be the Match.” Mention “HOSA” when you are ordering at Culver’s.

Addresses Due TODAY For Students Helping Soldiers Care Packages

Do you know anyone actively serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines?

Students Helping Soldiers is making Holiday Care Packages to send to troops overseas…and the club needs service members’ addresses.

TODAY is the LAST DAY to send addresses to Coach Moran or Coach Hutchins. Care packages will be sent out on Friday.

Seniors: Time To Order Your Grad Gear; Deadline Is In 10 DAYS!

Graduation may still seem far away, but planning for it is already getting underway!

Seniors can place orders now for graduation packages, graduation announcements, senior gear, class rings, caps and gowns and more with Jostens

The Jostens group order deadline for Stevenson is Sunday, Dec. 18. After Dec. 18, individual order pricing and handling charges will apply and orders will be subject to availability.

Operation Snowball is hosting a fundraiser all day TODAY at MOD Pizza in Buffalo Grove, 1555 Deerfield Parkway.

Girls Gymnastics: The Patriots (1-2) cruised to a 134 to 128.05 conference victory over Libertyville.  Ashley Schabes led the way for Stevenson placing first in three out of the four events and first place in the All-Around. Clara Cavalcanti placed third on the vault with a score of 9.00, Emma Fang placed first on the uneven bars with an 8.75, Sam Matzek placed third on the beam with an 8.65 and Cavalcanti placed third on the floor with an 8.50. Next up is the New Trier Invite at 11 a.m. on Saturday at New Trier’s Northfield Campus. 

Boys Bowling: Stevenson (7-2, 6-1) hosted nonconference opponent New Trier and lost 3532 to 3476. Jackson Sher had a team and series high of 720, with a high game of 262. Ender Starr had a 586 series and a high game of 205. Jude Snider had a game-high 238. Next up is rival Libertyville in a crucial conference match at 4:45 p.m. tonight at Lakeside Lanes.

Girls Bowling: Stevenson (0-4) traveled to Lakeside Lanes to take on conference opponent Mundelein and took a loss. Anna Reyes bowled a game high of 197 for the Patriots. Next up for Stevenson is a match against North Chicago at Bertrand Lanes at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.

Girls Basketball: The 2022 State Champion Girls Basketball team will be playing Huntley on SATURDAY at 2 p.m. at the NOW Arena. Tickets are $10 for general admission.

Cheer and Dance: On SUNDAY, the Cheer and Dance teams are hosting the Patriot Challenge!
