Chinese Honor Society Creates A Night Of Fun For Local Kids

Learning was definitely made fun last month when the National Chinese Honor Society co-hosted an activities night for local kids with the Vernon Area Public Library.

For nearly seven years, NCHS and the library have been collaborating on this event and it keeps gaining in popularity. The library recruits kids from the community to attend and the student-helpers from NCHS design and run activities for the night.

Approximately 35 NCHS student-helpers attended this year’s event on Oct. 12, where they taught the younger kids how to create Chinese calligraphy, how to make lanterns and slime and how to play Taiji and Jianzi.
