Break A Leg! Auditions For “Beauty And The Beast” and “Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland” Are On Monday

Interested in taking the stage? Auditions for the fall musical, “Beauty and the Beast,” and the children’s play, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” begin after school on Monday in the Performing Arts Center.

Students of all grades and all experience levels are encouraged to sign-up to audition and to join the crew! Rehearsals are scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 29. Rehearsal schedules vary based on the show and the role you play.

Planet Stevenson To Host Freshmen Mixer Tonight! To all of the astronauts who just landed on “Planet Stevenson” (aka THE FRESHMEN): Please join your new classmates and your senior FMP mentors from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight at the Pool Deck Patio for the annual Freshmen Mixer. There will be music, dancing, snacks and much, much more! There is no need to RSVP or register. Please enter through Circle Drive, and bring your school ID for admission. This event is a lock-in, which means that students will not be permitted to leave early. Also, be on the lookout for senior Christina Mo, who will be taking over Stevenson’s main Instagram account, starting this afternoon to capture all things Freshmen Mixer.  Mo, Director of Communications of the Freshmen Mentor Program (FMP) has been involved with this group for two years.  She is one of nine Executive Board members.   We are excited to see all the fun memories you will post tonight!  Thank you, Christina!

Big Traffic News: Half Day Road Closed Just West Of Campus Starting On Monday

There will be a major road closure just west of campus that will require many students and staff to adjust their routes to and from school starting next week.

Construction will close Half Day Road at the railroad tracks just east of Prairie Road, running from 9 a.m. on Monday until approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 28), weather permitting. 

Patriot Wellness Center Open To All Students After School

Hey Patriots! Don’t forget: The brand new Patriot Wellness Center is open not only for physical welfare classes…but the fitness areas will also be open to ALL STUDENTS after school.

Hours of operation for the Patriot Wellness Center are:
~ Monday through Thursday: 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
~ Friday: 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
~ Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Remember: Before school and during periods 1 through 8, the PWC will be an academic space for physical welfare classes. So, if you’re interested in using the PWC during the school day, join a physical welfare class.

For students interested in working out after school, we offer a variety of effective movement programs for all skill levels and interests. In addition, we will allow you to vote on the group classes you want to see offered starting in October.

Options to vote on include: yoga, group fitness, pilates, HIIT, and more.

Our goal is to help you make the most of your time at the Patriot Wellness Center. For more information about programs offered in the PWC, please email PWC@d125.org.

Talk The Talk: Share Your Love Of Sports With Stevenson Fans! Join The Sports Broadcasting Club!

Have you ever listened to the announcers during a game and thought, “I can do that.” Do you want to be a part of this historic year in Stevenson sports?

The Stevenson Sports Broadcasting Club will be holding an informational meeting after school on Monday in Room 1628. New members in any grade are welcome. The club will meet every Monday after school in Room 1628.

Attendance will be taken.

The full meeting schedule is: Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 17, Dec. 8, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 16, and  April 20.
