Patriot Theatre Company To Host “Meet-And-Greet” Tomorrow

Want to be a part of Stevenson’s award-winning theatre department? Join the Patriot Theatre Company to kick off the new school year at 6 p.m. tomorrow in the Performing Arts Center!

Meet students, teachers, and directors and learn about all the ways to get involved on-stage and off-stage with our six main-stage productions including the fall musical, “Beauty and the Beast” and the freshman/sophomore play, “Romeo and Juliet.”

Information will also be shared on how to join our theatre clubs, including Stevenson Backstage, Scripts Studio Playwright’s Club, Failed Presidential Candidates Improv Team, and the International Thespian Society. All students and parents/guardians are welcome, and no previous theatre experience is necessary!

Big Traffic News: Half Day Road Closed Just West Of Campus Starting On Monday

There will be a major road closure just west of campus that will require many students and staff to adjust their routes to and from school starting next week.

Construction will close Half Day Road at the railroad tracks just east of Prairie Road, running from 9 a.m. on Monday until approximately 7 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 28), weather permitting. 

Patriot Wellness Center Open To All Students After School

Hey Patriots! Don’t forget: The brand new Patriot Wellness Center is open not only for physical welfare classes…but the fitness areas will also be open to ALL STUDENTS after school.

Hours of operation for the Patriot Wellness Center are:
~ Monday through Thursday: 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
~ Friday: 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
~ Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Remember: Before school and during periods 1 through 8, the PWC will be an academic space for physical welfare classes. So, if you’re interested in using the PWC during the school day, join a physical welfare class.

For students interested in working out after school, we offer a variety of effective movement programs for all skill levels and interests. In addition, we will allow you to vote on the group classes you want to see offered starting in October.

Options to vote on include: yoga, group fitness, pilates, HIIT, and more.

Our goal is to help you make the most of your time at the Patriot Wellness Center. For more information about programs offered in the PWC, please email PWC@d125.org.

Interactive Gamers Club To Start Weekly Meetings Tomorrow

Are you a fan of card games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, or Yu-Gi-Oh? Do you enjoy RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder? Do you play board games like Settlers of Catan, Betrayal at House on the Hill, or Ticket to Ride?

If you enjoy these games, or would like to learn how to play, join Interactive Gamers Club (IGC) every Thursday in Room 7116 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The club’s first meeting is tomorrow. Please contact RFedewa@d125.org with any questions!

Need Some Extra Cash? The Library Is Hiring!

The Upper ILC is hiring student aides to work in the Library during all class periods. If you have a free period or a study hall and you would like to work in the Library, please visit the Circulation Desk or e-mail library@d125.org for an application. This is a paid position and the Library is taking applications until all class periods are filled. 

Missing Something? Check The Lost-And-Found

Lost-And-Found items can be claimed in the West Attendance Office (Room 2416) or the East Attendance Office (Room 5024) from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day. All items will be donated every two weeks, starting on Sept. 2.

Athletic Results

Girls Golf: The Patriots traveled to the Vernon Hills Golf Club to take on Vernon Hills and Fremd in a triangular. Stevenson tied Fremd with a team score of 155. Allyson Duan led the pack with a low score of 35. Teammate Rylie Pryor was close behind with a score of 38. Joyce Hu scored 40, Ellie Choe scored a 42, Jess Velent had a 43 and rounding out the Patriots was Ashley Jiang with a score of 53. Next up for Stevenson is Highland Park at Crane’s Landing at 4 p.m. on Friday.

Mark Your Calendars: Mandatory Student-Athlete Meeting Coming Up 

All 2022-23 student-athletes are required to attend ONE general informational meeting during the school year. The first one is scheduled for Aug. 25 from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 am in the West Auditorium.  

Attendance will be taken.

The full meeting schedule is: Sept. 15, Oct. 20, Nov. 17, Dec. 8, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 16, and  April 20.

VIP Will Be On Campus This Week For Fall Sports Photos

Athletic teams at Stevenson will be having their pictures taken this week.

Once pictures are taken, athletes’ photos will be posted online within 3 weeks of the photo day for viewing and ordering. Please click here to sign up for an e-mail notification of when your photo is ready to view and order.
