Seniors: Want Help With The College Application Process? The CCC Has You Covered!

School may have just started, but many Seniors are already starting to think about applying to college, and how to do so.

The College Career Center will hold its annual Senior Parent/Guardian Night from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29. This event will be held in the Performing Arts Center and also live-streamed through Zoom. It is open to all parents and guardians of seniors at Stevenson.

Families requiring interpretation services are asked to e-mail:  shs_CollegeCareer@d125.org, or call the CCC at (847) 415-4517 by Monday, Aug. 22.

During the presentation, Post Secondary Counselors Sara English and Dan Miller will discuss how to apply to colleges. Topics to be covered include types of applications (Common App, for example), admission plans (including Early Decision), deadlines, obtaining a transcript, standardized test scores, letters of recommendation, essays, and scholarships.

This presentation will be recorded. Within one week it will be posted on the CCC website with the slides.
