Tickets Available For Upcoming Athletic Hall Of Fame Induction For Classes of 2020 and 2021

The Stevenson Athletic Department will be honoring the Class of 2020 and the Class of 2021 Hall of Fame Inductees on Saturday, April 9 in an in-person event that will be emceed by Social Studies teacher Andy Conneen.

The event, postponed due to the pandemic, will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Room 2104 and will honor Class of 2020 inductees Pat AmbroseDr. Rick DuFourPatrick JoyceJohn Martin and Ashley Wanland as well as Class of 2021 inductees Danielle MallStephanie MillerTodd SchmitkeBoomer Whipple and Sean Wimer.

A limited quantity of tickets for the general public are available for purchase through GoFan for $15 for adults (18+) and $10 for children (under 18).

Nearly $2,000 In Prizes Up For Grabs In shsHacks Coding Marathon This Weekend

Do you have a great idea that involves AI, games, website design, animation, or anything coding? Then get some extra sleep this week so that you’ll be ready for “shsHacks” this weekend, Stevenson’s FREE 24-hour coding marathon that is offering nearly $2,000 in prizes!

Sponsored by the Computer Science Club and Girls in STEAM Club, the event runs Saturday and Sunday and will be partly in person at Stevenson and partly online.

No coding experience is required to participate in the workshops. Simply register now to receive free shirts, stickers, water bottles, and more! Deadline to register is Friday.

And Then There Were Two…Pick The Winner Of The Spirit Wear T-Shirt Design Contest

After starting with 10 finalists, the Spirit Wear T-Shirt Design Contest is in the home stretch, as previous voting has narrowed the field to the FINAL TWO (pictured above). It is time for the second round of voting! Please submit your vote for your favorite design by 8 a.m. on Monday, April 4. The winner, who will receive a free T-shirt, will be announced by the end of next week! The design will be put on T-shirts that will be available for purchase at the Patriot School Store and the online store.

Olympic Medalist And Stevenson Grad Megan Bozek Was On Campus Today

Fresh off of her Silver Medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics, U.S. Women’s National Hockey Team star and 2009 Stevenson graduate Megan Bozek was on campus today, signing autographs and showing off her Olympic hardware.

Bozek, who is a defender for the U.S. team and was also an Olympic silver medalist in 2014, was set up during periods 5 and 6 in the Wood Commons.

Bozek played four years at the University of Minnesota, where she won two national championships. She has played seven seasons of professional hockey and was inducted into the Stevenson Athletics Hall of Fame with the inaugural class in 2019.

First Practice For Allied Soccer Is Today

The Allied Soccer team is scheduled to begin its season today with its first practice. The team will practice Tuesdays and Thursdays at an indoor location from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information and to confirm practice location, please contact coaches Ryan Hutchins (rhutchins@d125.org) and Shannon Mauro (smauro@d125.org).

Athletic Results

Girls Lacrosse: The Patriots went 2-1 over Spring Break. Stevenson had a 13-0 win at O’Fallon, a 10-7 win at Cor Jesu in St. Louis, and an 11-10 loss against Belleville West. Over the course of the week, Lili Sorenson had 13 goals and 5 assists. Jordyn Ackerman contributed 6 goals and had 3 assists. Teagan Hendricks had 3 goals. And goalie Megan Randol had a 70.5% save rate with 28 saves. Next up for the Patriots is Normal West at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Stadium.
