First Virtual Open House Event is Tonight!
Don’t forget that our first annual (Virtual) Open House Night is tonight! The event will begin at 6:15 p.m. for freshmen and transfer students and families and at 7:00 p.m. for all other students and families. For those who cannot make Virtual Open House tonight, there is a second event on Sept. 1. All information and Zoom links are now posted to the Virtual Open House web page. We look forward to seeing all of our students and families there!
A Note from Student Learning Programs: Due to the Virtual Open House tonight, students will have a Late Arrival Day tomorrow. All ILC and ELC tutors will be available tomorrow from 7 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. via Zoom and from 10 a.m. on via both Zoom and in-person. All Zoom tutoring links can be found here.
StreetFest Wellness Week: Today’s Roundup
A huge thank you to everyone who has participated in our StreetFest Wellness Week events so far. We look forward to our lunch event, “Quali-TEA Time” and tonight’s webinar with nationally recognized clinical psychologist Dr. Lisa Damour at 7 p.m. As a reminder, all events are posted on our StreetFest Wellness Week web page.

Attend the SHS football game and stop by our wellness table throughout the evening in order to engage in some interactive wellness activities, learn more about the StreetFest culminating wellness event on Saturday, and even purchase a “new year, new me” wellness shirt to wear at StreetFest!
As part of StreetFest Wellness Week, we are also fundraising throughout the month of August to benefit the wellness-based agencies of Elyssa’s Mission, Rainbows for All Children, Shelter Inc. and Loving without Limits. Please feel free to donate electronically to support wellness! We will also be accepting cash donations at the door of StreetFest on Aug. 28. Thank you for your support!

Get Your Fill of Culver’s and Support the SHS Band!
The SHS Band Parents’ Organization sets up fundraising events with local restaurants through-out the year. Funds collected are used to support the band program at Stevenson.
BPO’s first restaurant fundraiser this year will be tomorrow at Culver’s in Buffalo Grove. The fundraiser runs all day for dine-in, drive-thru and carry-out. Just mention this fundraising effort when you place your order, and Culver’s will donate 25% of sales back to the band!

Fall Athlete Picture (Retake) Day
Fall athletes who missed their scheduled picture date can come to Room 5044 on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 10:00 a.m. -10:30 a.m. for a retake. There will not be an additional charge for an individual photo.
If students want to be included in the team picture, which was already taken a couple weeks ago, Visual Image Photography has a $75 charge per person to rebuild the team photo. Both team and individual photos can be ordered online at VIP – How to Order.
Cross Country Athletes Gear Up for Competition
Tonight marks the first competition for the Stevenson boys and girls cross country programs at the Vernon Hills Athletic Complex. The boys race starts at 4:45 p.m. with Stevenson hosting Buffalo Grove, Dundee Crown, Fremd, Libertyville, and Wauconda. The girls race follows at 5:15 p.m. against Buffalo Grove, Dundee Crown, and Highland Park. Parking is limited, so spectators are encouraged to arrive early for the boys race and leave immediately after the race to free up parking spaces for the second race.

Due to weather, the girls field hockey game against Glenbard West was called complete with 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and the score tied at 0 – 0. Senior goalie Marissa Dicker had 12 saves. The squad returns to the stadium next Wednesday night at 6:15 p.m. for a conference matchup versus Lake Forest
