Announcing Stevenson’s Daily Digest: Special Editions
While the Daily Digest usually goes on hiatus over the breaks, this summer, we will be distributing special editions of the Daily Digest for athletics! Given that we still have nine more sports teams competing until mid-June, we want to be sure that our entire Stevenson community stays up-to-date on our amazing athletes. Recent Athletics Results
Wrestling Super Regionals
Stevenson Wrestling won the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association Super Regional on June 14, hosted by Pure Elite Fitness High School. Other schools in the Super Regional were Barrington, Glenbrook South, Prospect, Fremd, Hersey, Lake Zurich, Evanston, New Trier, Dundee-Crown, Glenbrook North, Buffalo Grove, Palatine, Highland Park, Niles North, Loyola Academy and Rolling Meadows. They will be competing in the Sectional tomorrow at Joliet Junior College. The Girls State Tournament is Monday, June 21, followed by the Frosh/Soph State Finals on June 22-23 at the Bank of Springfield Center, while the 3A Varsity State Championship is slated for June 26.
Boys Track & Field
Five Stevenson athletes will be competing at the IHSA 3A Boys Track & Field State Finals tomorrow. The relay team of Zach Goldman, David Smolensky, Marcus Casselberry and Jimmy Davis will compete in the 4×200 meter relay and the 4×100 meter relay, while teammate Mark Hellwig earned a spot in the high jump.
